8th grade Selfies
Objectives:
*Understand that self-portraits are a reflection of one self
*Learn the correct placement of facial features
*Create a unique cellphone selfie
Materials: Paper template of a cellphone, mirrors, pencils, colored pencils

*Responding: Understanding and evaluating how the arts convey meaning
*Connecting: Relating artistic ideas and work with personal meaning and external context
For their first project of the quarter, 8th grade students created a cellphone selfie. They were able to learn about portrait drawing while also being able to express their own unique characteristics. It was a great exercise to get to know each other in a new class!
